چکیده
The viability of gold supported on lanthanum-modified HAP catalysts is investigated for CO preferential oxidation (PROX) in H2-rich stream. All samples comprise small nanoparticles (NPs) Au (< 4 nm). Addition La enhances the chemisorption CO, whereas it lowers that H2 and H2O. Moreover, lanthanum improves reducibility mobility oxygen. FTIR studies show under conditions exists two distinct forms La-promoted samples, namely Au?+ Au+ species. catalytic tests different PROX an improvement performance with addition. observed linked to suitable chemical properties, efficiency dependence NP sizes rather secondary. At 80 °C, La-rich completely eliminate prove be selective (66%) realistic (in presence H2O CO2). they are exceptionally stable during extended period (240 h).

Low-content gold-ceria catalysts for the water–gas shift and preferential CO oxidation reactions
Low-content (<0.6 at.%) gold-ceria samples were prepared by one-pot synthesis by the urea gelation/co-precipitation method, and by sodium cyanide leaching of high-content (5 at.%) gold-ceria materials prepared by deposition–precipitation. These catalysts, containing cationic gold in ceria, are active for both the low-temperature water–gas shift (WGS) reaction and the preferential oxidation of C...
متن کاملIn-situ Observation of Nano-particulate Gold Catalysts under Reaction Gas and Non-reaction Gas Conditions
Gold exhibits catalytic activity when it is in the form of fine particles having a size of less than 10 nm and is tightly supported on specific metal oxides such as TiO2, etc [1]. To reveal its mechanism, dynamic observation of the sample structures during the reaction by the transmission electron microscope (TEM) is quite essential. “Environmental-cell (E-cell) TEM” technique [2], which enable...
متن کاملPreferential CO oxidation in hydrogen (PROX) on ceria supported catalysts PART II. Oxidation states and surface species on Pd/CeO2 under reac- tion conditions, suggested reaction mechanism
The aim of the PROX reaction is to reduce the CO content of hydrogen feed to proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) by selective oxidation of CO in the presence of excess hydrogen. Both Pt and Pd on ceria are active in CO oxidation (without hydrogen) while Pd is poorly active in the presence of hydrogen. In this paper we aimed at finding the reasons of such behavior, using the same techniq...
متن کاملPreferential CO oxidation in hydrogen (PROX) on ceria supported catalysts PART I. Oxidation state and surface species on Pt/CeO2 under reaction conditions
The CO content of hydrogen feed to proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) must be kept under 1-100 ppm for their proper operation. This can be achieved by using catalysts able to selectively oxidize CO in the presence of excess hydrogen (PROX). The present study reports on the mechanism of PROX reaction on Pt/CeO2 catalyst, by using catalytic tests, in-situ DRIFTS, high-pressure XPS, HRTEM...
